Twentieth December Two Thousand Ten

Global warming my ass, this has so far been one of the most chaotic winters in a while. From the north to the east, Mother Nature hath no mercy concerning snowstorms. Flight delays up the wazoo and numerous road closures; Somehow, I think the polar bears will be okay.

Dear China: Get over yourself. Just because you favor conformity doesn't mean you should be a douche when one of your own is rightfully recognized. Sure you don't like insurgency; I can respect that, but no matter how much you hate it, Liu Xiaobo is Chinese and he won a freaking Nobel Peace Prize! Yes his participation in the Tiananmen Square riots is problematic, but be grateful that one of your own is being honored. And for goodness sake, stop claiming disrespect to anyone who attends the ceremony. Do you think China is being unreasonable?

Serious, wtf Mexico? In case you didn't know, Mexico has a huge drug and gang problem. But now, the measures they are going to are infuriating. A fourteen year old boy was arrested on charges of being a hitman. But he blames the cartels.  "I felt bad doing it. I was forced to do it. Does anybody else follow soccer? Have a favorite team or country? No doubt you've heard then, the official hosts of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. As previously announced, Brazil will host the 2014 tournament (Yay!), but announced today, Russia will host the 2018 competition and Qatar has dibs on 2022. How do all you soccer fans feel about that? Would you feel safe traveling to countries with reputations such as these? Or are you overjoyed about the selections? Feel free the rant below.

First December Two Thousand Ten

2010 has been, like other years, a year of ups and downs. The most popular internet searches of the year may just surprise you. According to Yahoo!, the top ten searches of 2010 were:
  1. BP Oil Spill
  2. World Cup
  3. Miley Cyrus
  4. Kim Kardashian
  5. Lady Gaga
  6. iPhone
  7. Megan Fox
  8. Justin Bieber
  9. American Idol
  10. Britney Spears
Does this disgust anyone else? Quite honestly I'm torn whether to think it's a good or a bad thing. On one hand I'm glad the whole list isn't shallow, but at the same time, most of it is. What do you think?

Thirtieth November Two Thousand Ten

So how many people liked Johnny Depp's portrayal of Jack Sparrow? My guess is many, as each movie was a hit at the box office; however, apparently ex-chief executive of Disney was not among the masses. Supposedly former boss man Michael Eisner "could not stand" how the role was portrayed. In any case, what was was a trilogy is due for a fourth installment next year. So what do you say? Eisner versus the masses. Take your pick.
